Hop on the Solar House Day bus

The Australian Institute of Architects are again celebrating ACT Solar House Day with a lecture and bus tour to recognise the terrific work of local architects designing energy-efficient housing for the Canberra region. This will be the second year Jigsaw projects will be featured, and if you are yet to walk through a lovely Jigsaw home, this is your chance!

Solar House Day will feature architects’ contributions to the development of energy-efficient, solar passive and sustainable house design that responds to its climatic environment.

Solar Lecture

The Solar House Day public lecture will be held at the Shine Dome on Thursday 30 July, 5:30-7:00pm. This is a free public lecture, however, seating is limited so please RSVP via email to act@architecture.com.au . Click here for more information.

Jigsaw architect Sarah Lebner will be presenting on 10 green principles to consider when buying land, as well as talking about our JigsawModular and discussing case studies.

Bus Tours

The Solar House Day bus tours will be held on Sunday, August 2 and August 9. Jigsaw will be showcasing our modular Stray Leaf House in Forde as part of the bus tour on Sunday 2 August, and our Thorn Place renovation as part of the tour on Sunday 9 August. You can read a bit more about Thorn Place in our blog about the 2013 Solar House day bus tour.
