Designing and building a sustainable and liveable home can present a significant challenges in Canberra’s often harsh climate. We take a scientific approach to finding solutions that are specific to each site and each project.
At the design stage, we use software tailored to the Canberra region climate zone to predict each home’s heating and cooling requirements.
We use the exact dimensions, orientation, construction methods and materials, as well as average hourly weather data to calculate how much energy is needed to keep the house comfortable all year round.
During construction, we use thermal imaging to confirm that insulation is installed thoroughly, as well as fan depressurisation to check for air leakage throughout the building envelope.
All together, our rigorous testing ensures that the completed home performs to the standard achieved in our theoretical tests.
